God uses simple things to teach us.
When I went outside this afternoon one of our roosters began to holler at me. I knew what he and the others wanted and that was goodies to eat. So I went back in the house and got an old loaf of bread. I went back outside and opened the gate and walked in. I walked through the grass over past the fruit trees. All of the chickens followed me intently, but a few kept their distance because of fear.
I began to feed them pieces of bread torn from the loaf. I threw the pieces out to them and they scattered to and fro trying to get the piece of bread before some other came to steal it. One hen was very persistent than all the others. She stayed right in front of me. Her eyes would look up at me and she would stretch her neck out showing me she wanted the next piece. She stayed close to me while the others kept their distance. Because I saw her eagerness and persistence (it was pretty cute) I couldn't help but give her more. After all, she stayed close to me ready for another piece of bread. She received a lot more than the others.
The LORD Jesus reminded me this afternoon that it is better and more beneficial for us to stay close to Him and not be afraid and stand far away. Most people think God is far from them but it is actually the other way around. Come to Him today and let Him feed you the Bread of Life. Stay close to Him always.
Many believers need this message today. Come close to the LORD and receive.
Today, some of you may be standing a far off from the Lord Jesus because of pain, fear and other worries. He wants you to know that you can come to Him for healing. He loves you and has laid down His life for you, that you may have life.
Jesus answered, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst. John 6:35
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Matthew 26:26
Lord God, please forgive me for not coming to you because I was afraid and in pain. I come to You in faith believing You Jesus, are the Son of God who was crucified for my sin and all sin and was buried and raised from the dead. I believe you are alive and sitting at the right hand of God the Father, praying for me, even me. Please feed me Your bread and help me to understand Your truth. In Jesus name, amen.
